A Fair Evening for the Fair

Ryan got free admission and parking tix for the Fair, so we went last night. Since we're supposed to have a heatwave this weekend, we're glad we went when we did! The boys did great!

Evan wants to be a firefighter when he grows up, so he was super excited to get his picture taken in front of a firetruck. There was also a police dog demonstration going on, and I think he got a kick out of the marshmallow outfits the officers had on. Or was it that the dogs wouldn't let go of their arms?

Blueberry Picking!

Yesterday we headed to Majestic Farms to do some U-Pick blueberry picking! It was our first time EVER, and the boys absolutely loved it. Jaren ate more than the other 3 of us combined. We got 5lbs for $1.25/lb. I froze some, and this morning made a super-yummy breakfast cobbler. Mmmmm..... I LOVE blueberries!
Evan was such a hard worker!

Swimming at Grandma's

When Maria and I were little, we spent many a summer day at our Grandma's house, swimming. Her condo had a giant outdoor pool, and Mom would drop us off for the afternoon. What wonderful memories!

Now that MY Mom is retired (whoo hoo, Mom!), I think she wanted to do the same for her grandsons. No, she doesn't live in a condo association with a giant pool, but she bought a super-cool, above-ground pool for the boys to splash around in. They LOVE LOVE LOVE it!

Happy 6th Birthday Evan!

This year we celebrated Evan's 6th at Pacific Park. It was a very simple Mario Brothers themed party. The weather was gorgeous, but way too windy!!

Messy Mac N Cheese

Today was the first time Jaren truly showed an interest in feeding himself using a utensil. I went with it... He gave up on the utensil...

Look What I Did!

I joined a Crafter's Book Club, and this time I got a bunch of sewing/craft books. One in particular is called "One Yard Wonders", and it has a ton of projects that require just one yard of fabric. I LOVED the idea of the "Petite Diaper Tote", so I made my own! Just big enough for a couple of diapers, wipes, and a sippy cup/snack. I improvised a little, but I'm really happy with the way it turned out. :)
