3-Year Photos

Every year, we take Evan to Penney's on his birthday for pictures. This year was the BEST ever! I don't know if it was the fact that he's older and more cooperative, or that Penney's has gone digital and the poses aren't fixed. Check 'em out.....

Pretending to Sleep

Evan has recently acquired a liking to pretending to sleep. He wants me to "find" him in different places - his bedroom floor, the couch, our bed, etc. He says, "Mommy, say 'Oh, there's a little sleeping boy there!'" It's so cute!!!

Happy Birthday Evan!

Wow, the big 3! We had a very busy week, planning for two parties. Friday was the "grandparents" party - laid back dinner with presents and cake. Saturday was the "kids" party at the park. (We even had a T-Rex pinata!)Evan spent the weekend with family and tons of friends - he had a blast! This year's theme was DINOSAURS, in honor of Evan's fascination with them throughout the year. Cheers to 3!

Karate Kid

After Oaks Park, we got a second wind. Ryan decided to teach Evan how to play-fight. The photos are: Evan's karate stance, the "praying mantis", and Evan getting tackled by Daddy. Uh-oh, looks like Evan really LOVES this! We're going to have to wait a couple of years before we enroll him in Tae Kwon Do.

Day at Oaks Park

2-for-1 Tuesdays are great! For $20 (which included lunch), we spent about 3.5 hours riding rides and having a blast! Evan's favorite ride was the "airplane" ride, that spun around and went higher and lower. He did NOT like the roller coaster (I went on it with him), but he LOVED the carousel. Poor Ryan had to ride it with him twice! The weather was beautiful (though a bit hot - mid 80's), and we ate lunch in the shade at a picnic table. What an awesome family day!!

Park & Lunch with Grandpa

This morning, we drove out to Hillsboro's Rood Bridge Park to play with Grandpa and Grandma Barbara. Afterwards, we went to their house for lunch. Here are a couple of pictures - in one of them, Grandpa is showing Evan how to cook the Korean version of Egg Foo Yung. "I. Don't. Like. Vegetables!" said Evan.....

Something Happened to Santa's Eye

Evan is GREAT at stalling when it comes to bedtime. Tonight, he'd been in his room for quite awhile, loading stuffed animals onto his bed. Ryan and I were downstairs starting a movie, when I heard little footsteps at the top of the stairs. "Mommy?" (in a quiet voice) "Um, something happened to Santa's eye." I met him halfway on the stairs, only to discover that indeed - something DID happen to Santa's eye. Evan happened.
